The Craft Room is a woman-owned manufacturer of wholesale pictures operated in Union City, Michigan. We have spent the past 30 years creating “new and different” products for our gift retailers. Our home decor items are not only affordable but to... read moretally unique!
We are very proud to state that we are certified by WBE, Women’s Business Enterprise, and are a member of the Better Business Bureau.
In 1985 while taking a break from the corporate life, we started creating and selling handcrafted pine furniture at local markets. As our booth had pieces of furniture sitting around, it was bare on the upper walls. So we started creating kitchen and bathroom prints to fill the void areas. The sale of these inspirational prints kept us so busy that we later dropped the furniture line, started copyrighting our print designs, and wholesaling the print line to retailers throughout the nation.
Every member of our family has worked really hard to make sure that The Craft Room is and will remain successful. Family has always been very important to all of us, and our framed quotes often reflect devotion to family.
We believe in helping our neighbors and community. We live in a small rural community on 40 acres, a community that was hit hard by the automobile layoffs. Our goal is to employ local residents to improve our neighbor and community lifestyle again. As our business is connected to our home; we do not have much separation from it. As a foster home for teenage boys, the business serves to educate the teens on job responsibility, along with what it is like to have a family business. The teens learn skills that will be helpful in their future lives: computer skills from data entry, phone manners from talking with customers, forklift skills from loading and unloading semis, learning how to build products from wood, and repairing anything that breaks, such as in plumbing, electrical, or vehicle.
Our life's work has been creating unique and affordable home decor and gift items for over 30 years, and we are still going strong!
