I tried standing it up on my nightstand so it would be close to me in the event of an emergency. This didn’t work because every time I would reach to turn on a lamp, answer the phone or turn off my alarm clock I would knock it over. One night I knocked the flashlight over and nearly broke the lamp on the nightstand. At that point I said there has got to be a better solution. So I went to the hardware store and bought the only mounting brackets available for that type of flashlight. It consisted of two plastic brackets of which are designed to grip the flashlight. The problem with this product is that it was designed for your garage not your bedroom. The two mounting options for this product were to screw it to the bedroom wall or to your nightstand both of which left much to be desired from an esthetic point of view. At that point I looked around the bedroom for the best location to access a flashlight if needed. I realized that if I was in my bed that the flashlight needed to be within arms length. The obvious place to access the flashlight was just under the bed frame rail where I could grab the light without even sitting up in my bed. Then the challenge came to mount the flashlight to the bed frame rail without tools and or sheet metal screws. To solve this mounting problem I created a bracket that slides over the bed frame rail with no tools required. I then wanted to create a cradle for the flashlight that you would simply lift the light out of and not remove it from a grip type clamp bracket. Next, I wanted the flashlight to be completely under the bed so the bed skirt would hide it from view. This would solve all the aforementioned problems of access, mounting and esthetics for your bedroom. The Out of Sight Flashlight is the answer. This product consists of two 1” wide, 1/8” thick brackets to cradle a flashlight under the bed. The brackets can be made of plastic, steel or aluminum in a shape that cradles the flashlight under the bed frame. The product can be manufactured to accommodate both C & D size battery flashlights. The two brackets slide along the bed frame rail as to adjust for length of your flashlight (2D-3D-4D etc.) and to accommodate the best location for easy access. The cradle brackets are universal and therefore can be mounted on either side of the bed.
